The Mission:
1. Have Fun! 2. Make Friends.
3. Conquer everything Blizzard puts in front of us. 4. Get Gear.
Introduction:
SRA is not a guild. It is a collection of players who wish to conquer World
of Warcraft "end-game" without having to leave the comfort of their
own guild. As a Rostered SRA member, you will be expected to commit to the
raid times posted here. Before applying, make sure that there are no conflicts
with guild rules or events, or that your life outside of WoW does not prohibit
you from attending the raids consistently. During raid times, your primary attention will be
to SRA. SRA is not be for the casual gamer, or for the faint of heart.
Our entire mission is the conquest of End Game Raid Content.
Like any organized recreational sport such as soccer or basketball, in order to
accomplish goals, there must be a set of rules that all team members must obey.
Real life comes first (after all, this is a game) but unless a member can
dedicate at least two nights a week, for
four hours each night, then this is not the place for them to explore
end-game.

SECTION ONE: LOGISTICS
Recruitment:
We will maintain a waiting list in case one of the roster
members resigns their position or is removed from the roster. Application to
SRA will be done through a submission form on the forums and will be handled
by the Leadership Council (LC). When applying, please use your characters name as your
username (see application). Raid acceptance may be subject to trial-runs to gauge performance & check personality "fit".
Schedule:
Our raiding schedule will be as follows:
First Run – Thursday 6:00 to 10:00 server
Second Run – Monday 6:00 to 10:00 server
Invitations will begin by 5:45 server. It is recommended that you are online at
5:30 server for orientation, strategy discussion, trading of water and overall
preparation. If you are not online & available at 5:45 you may not get an invite for that night.
Do not leave early. If you might not be able to commit to the cut-off time,
then either find a roster member to replace you for the entire session (see
"Attendance"), or express this to the LC before accepting an invite.
We may occasionally run past our scheduled cut-off time. However, when we do, it
is considered voluntary.
Raiding Rotation:
The LC will start inviting scheduled raiders by 5:45. At 6:00 any open
spots will be filled in the following order:
1. Same-class rostered
2. Any-class rostered
3. Same-class wait-list
4. Any-class wait-list
Demotion:
The only enforceable punishment for a member who breaks the rules, or causes
unnecessary delay, or hinders the raid, is demotion or expulsion:
Roster Demotion: you are sent to the waiting list, and will
have to wait until another roster member resigns or is removed before you are
allowed to come back to the group.
Expulsion: you are removed from the roster and the waiting
list and under no circumstances will you be brought back into the raid group.
Attendance:
You are expected to attend EVERY scheduled raid night. However, events in real
life take priority, and allowances will be made for special occasions,
holidays, illness, etcetera. If you will be unable to attend a raid, whether
you are scheduled to go that night or not, you must post your absence in the Absences Forum on the appropriate date with an explanation of why you
will not be able to make it. If you do not feel comfortable posting details
"why" you will be missing on the forums, you may also send this
information in a PM on the SRA site to a member of the LC. If you do not post &
miss a raid, you will be considered a "no-show".
Should a member
miss more than two raiding events in a month, they may be demoted by the LC (circumstances will be taken into consideration, such as
family vacations, etc.) Our success relies on people consistently making each and every raid
whenever possible.
"No-Shows": If a member does not show up for a raid without
giving proper notification or making an attempt to find a replacement, they are
a "no-show" and will be given 24 hours to explain the circumstances
(power outage, disconnects, illness, etc.). Should a member miss two scheduled
raids in a month without giving proper notification, or providing a reasonable
explanation, they may suffer a roster demotion, and a waiting list
member will enter the roster. Reason for missing must be made in the absences forum, or sent via email/text message to LC@TheSRA.net.
Overtime:
Occasionally, SRA may come close to raid "end time" and be at risk of
going over. Should this occur, the Raid Leader will cast a raid vote on whether
to continue on or not. This vote will be "majority rule", however
staying is voluntary. If you need to leave at the set end time, simply /w the
Raid Leader. If enough people (or enough of one role) leave, the RL may decide
to call the run.
National (US) Holidays:
Some statutory holidays will fall on raid dates. These concurrences will be
considered non-scheduled, non-official raids with voluntary attendance. These dates are an
excellent opportunity for waiting list people to show up and get a chance to
come to raid. Depending on how many roster members are in attendance, those
raids might turn into a farming session only.
Resignations and Removals:
Priorities change, loyalties change, and the SRA will not bind a
member’s soul to the game. Should a member decide to resign their position in the
SRA for any reason, they simply need to send a private message to the LC. The LC may announce in the forums that the resignation will be taking
place. Should the LC be required to expel a member from the roster,
they will notify that member in a private message; allowing time for that
member to respond in private message. The LC may then announce in
the forums that the demotion will be taking place. The expelled member will be
aware that they forfeit the right to any crafted items to which they would have
received in the future, and rescind any claim to any banked items.
Disciplinary Action:
If, at some point in time, a raider behaves in a manner that is neither
professional, nor appropriate, (i.e. refusing to follow orders, leaving
mid-raid without reason) disciplinary action may be necessary. If such a
situation arises it is at the sole discretion of the LC what
"punishment" is appropriate. Punishment may include (but is not limited to):
-
Raid Suspension
- Roster Demotion
- Loot-list demotion
-
Craftable/Potion/Enchanting Mats donation requirement (Ore, Herbs, Leather, Essences for Enchants, etc)

SECTION TWO: GENERAL RULES
Communication:
Important updates will be posted in the forums. It is the responsibility of every
raider to check the forums often for information on changes, schedules,
rotations or any other topic pertinent to the raid. The LC will not
be held responsible if a member does not know any changes that have been made.
The /raid channel will be used only as a means of communicating
strategy, raid instructions, loot assignments, or other raid-specific
information. Personal communications, jokes, or even congratulations will be
reserved for the chat channels.
General:
SRA = general chat channel
SRATank = melee channel (warriors, rogues, hunters)
SRAHeal = healing channel (priests, druids, paladins)
SRADps = caster channel (warlocks, mages)
The Ventrilo server provided by the SRA’s will be used by the RLs MT/OT
& MP to coordinate movement through the instance, when possible. The Ventrilo server may also be used for raid discussion and casual chat. Ventrilo is not required, but you are strongly encouraged to join and at least
"listen in". However, please do refrain from speaking before/during
boss encounters and during any "sticky" situations. Quick decisions
may need to be made by the Leaders, and they will need to be heard.
Extreme language in any channel and Ventrilo will be frowned upon. Any sort of
derogatory language including racism, homophobia, and religious intolerance
will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the roster and/or the
waiting list. The occasional "off-color" joke or playful harassment
are acceptable. Also, after a boss downing, profanity has been known to surface
on Ventrilo and in the SRA channel.
Personal conflicts between players will not be discussed over raid channel, or
any of the provided chat channels. Take them to private whispers, preferably
after the raid. If the issue cannot be resolved by the individuals, take the issue to a member of the Leadership Council (LC) – and only in private messages in game. If the LC is unable to
resolve your issue immediately, it will be discussed by the whole LC & a resolution reached. Do not take
personal issues to the forums; those posts will be deleted by an administrator ASAP .
Important updates will be posted in the forums. It is the responsibility of
every raider to check the forums often (at least before each raid) for information on changes, schedules,
rotations or any other topic pertinent to the raid.
In-Game Absences:
AFK's:
The Raid Leader will make every effort to schedule a break two or
three times during the raid to allow members to stretch, perform biological
functions, grab a drink, etc. On some occasions, it may be necessary for you to
be away from your keyboard. If you are going afk, notify the raid in the raid
channel with an estimate of how long you will be gone (/raid afk 1 minute), put your character on follow to one of the
caster class (mage or warlock) and toggle your /afk notifier. If you are afk for
more than ten minutes, you may be removed from the raid. If you are afk
frequently during a raid, causing unnecessary delay, you may be removed from
the raid. If you go afk during a boss fight explanation or before a boss fight,
you may be removed from the raid. If your being afk is becoming an issue, you
may be demoted.
Disconnects:
If a raider is disconnected for 20 minutes without contacting the RL or
posting in the SRA shoutbox, the RL may replace the disconnected raider
(raider1) with an available SRA raider (raider2) currently
"holding". It will be announced by the RL that raider1 is being
replaced by raider2 due to D/C issues. If raider1 gets their issues resolved
& comes back on within 10 minutes of the swap, than raider1 will be allowed
back into the raid & raider2 will be asked to leave again.
Skill level:
We are not elitist. We fully expect most, if not all, of the new members to be
made up of raiders who have never set foot in these instances before. You will
be expected to learn your roles in each of the fights, and acquire proper gear
over time (through crafted items, heroics, etc.). We will not force any
player to re-spec their character, although players must realized that if they
spec a certain way, they may become frustrated by their efforts – for example,
a fire-specced mage may not be very effective against Fire Lords.
Please have every available level of Abilities and Talents trained and ready for
use. It is unacceptable for a mage to not have their highest level of Blizzard
trained (for example). This goes for all classes.
PvP:
We are not a guild. What a person does in their off time is their own business,
and if they like to PvP, that is not an issue. In the past, a PvP flag caused issues with buffing as other necessary functions. Since the more recent patches remove this flag upon zone-in, it's not longer an issue. That being said, it's been known to happen where flagged Horde players have been jumped by SRA near a raid instance.
PuG Raiding:
If on an off-day you decide to join a PuG and raid, please be aware that this
might result in a demotion to the waiting list. Blizzard has very specific
timers set up for 10-man & 25-man instances, and have raid IDs assigned to players that zone into those instances. By joining
another group, or even initiating your own group, you are risking your
eligibility to join us for our raid, and putting the rest of the raid at a
disadvantage. You could be saved to an ID if you zone-in, even if you don't kill a boss (if the raid already had).
*Note: If SRA members are
going into either a *new* instance, or an instance not run by SRA (for that size)
on official nights, then no harm will come to them.
Off-Day Raiding:
At some time in the future, a number of raiders may decide they want to organize
an SRA trash mob run. If they do so, they need to inform the LC and
must realize that all materials looted go to the SRA Bank (MerSRA). All BoE
common and rare items can be randommed, however all BoE epic items must go to
the SRA Bank (MerSRA) for proper distribution. Any BoP epic trash drops may be
randomed as well. If any Bosses are taken down on an SRA raid timer, that
action will result in immediate roster demotion to whoever is leading that
non-official raid. *Note: If SRA members are going into either a *new* instance, or an instance no longer run by SRA on official nights, then Boss Kills are encouraged.
Add-Ons:
You are required to install the latest version of CT Raid Assist (or compatible); in game
instructions, information for the Raider Leader, decursing abilities, main
tank’s target, main tank’s target’s target, boss timers, and other features are
of inestimable use to any raiding group.
Healers (priests, druids, paladins) please arrange to have all groups appear
on your screen so that you may monitor the health of all raiders and not just
those in your group.
Deadly Boss Mods is a very handy add-on that shows timers & boss warnings.
Check the SRA:General forums for download link. If you run a damage meter (such as recount) keep the results to yourself, or if you are
specifically requested to provide information by another member, exchange that
information in a whisper.

SECTION THREE: EXPECTATIONS
Pre-Raid Preparations:
Invites will begin by 5:45 server. If you are not standing at the
entrance to the instance by 6:00, you may not get an invite and will be
considered a "no-show" and the alternate in your class will be
invited in your stead.
For invites, join the SRA channel.
Obtain enough water from mages to last you three to four hours. Once we are in
the instance, you should not be bothering mages to make more water for you;
they have other mana-heavy tasks (like buffing and doing damage) that take
precedence. If you run out of water during the raid, begin using your own
supply, or politely request more from a mage/warrior (we don't use much) if they can spare more.
Obtain a healthstone from a soulwell when it's created. During the
raid, shards may be limited in availability, and healthstone priority will be
for the melee classes.
Ensure you bring a good supply of consumables to each raid: [Runic Healing Potion], [item[Runic Mana Potion[/item], Elixers, Flasks, bandages, etc.
Class Expectations:
The LC is there for instructing new members and setting up rotations. They are
also there to handle any problems or questions that you may have. They will
address your problems and will find the best solution.
Tanks: Plain and simple, you are expected to secure and
maintain aggro at all times. Damage contributions are secondary. All tanks should create 3 macros similar to the following:
1. Tell all DPS to stop attacking:
/rw ---=== STOP ATTACKING ===--- /rw ---=== STOP ATTACKING ===---
2. Tell the DPS it's okay to open up on the mob:
/rw <<<<<< ATTACK NOW >>>>>> /rw <<<<<< ATTACK NOW >>>>>>
3. A pulling macro letting the raid know mobs are incoming:
/rw |||=== Pulling [Target] ===||| /rw |||=== Pulling [Target] ===||| Healers: During battle, your primary task is to heal the
MT/OT in the raid. A priest will also be designated to Fear Ward the Main
Tank when called upon – always stay within healing range of your warrior.
Secondary task will be to heal other members of your group, or adjacent groups.
During down time, you will be expected to buff the raid.
Damage Dealers: Your main task is to do as much damage as you can
without pulling aggro. Be sure to bring enough poisons, arrows, bullets etc. to last
you the entire raid.
Notes:
Druids: Innervates may be used either on yourself, or offered up to healers as a priority. Save your Rebirth for healers first, unless directed to do otherwise by the RL. Hunters: You are expected to keep "Hunter's Mark" up on the primary DPS target. In addition, you should have a "pulling macro" similar to that mentioned for the tanks above.
Warlocks: Coordinate with other warlocks & the RL to keep Soul Stones up during as many boss encounters as possible. If enough Warlocks aren't available to keep a SS up continually, the RL will specify when to put it up. Mages: During down time, you are expected to buff all
members of the raid with Arcane Brilliance. Bring 40+ powders. You may also be
asked to provide portals to Dalaran so ensure you have a
stack of Runes of Portal. You will also be tasked with casting Ritual of Refreshment to create a table of [conjured Mana Strudel] for the raids consumption.
Engineers: If an engineer has a Repair Bot trained, you may be
called upon to summon it. All raiders are encouraged to donate to the engineer
to help subsidize the cost in materials. The SRA bank may also provide bots to drop.
Resists: It is every raider’s responsibility to do their best
in gathering any resist gear necessary for the current instances. The raid
will provide gear when it can, but that won't always be an option.
You can use http://www.wowhead.com to perform an advanced item search and
sort by fire resist, armor type, slot, etcetera.

SECTION FOUR: LOOT COLLECTION AND DISTRIBUTION
10-man - All 10-man loot will be distributed on a Class>Need>Greed basis. There will
be a 1 epic (on-spec) NEED win per raid-week/instance-timer (Thurs/Mon). If an item
drops and no on-spec (primary) raiders need it, an off-spec (secondary) can GREED roll on it, without using
their 1-epic for the week/timer. We will NOT shard good epics. Example:
[Idol of the Avian Heart] drops & the only druid is Feral. the
Feral druid may take the item without using his 1-epic slot. Later on,
[Bracers of Maliciousness] drops. The druid is still eligible to
roll, since the previous drop (the idol) was not on-spec. However, this second item
WOULD count as his 1 weekly
Epic. 25-man - All 25-man instances will use tier-specific Suicide Kings (SK) loot lists. These lists allow for a reward to be placed on attendance & level out loot distribution. These SK Lists will be maintained on the SRA website & updated weekly.
All trade skill materials collected (Herbs, Ore, Leather) will be sent to the SRA3Bank (MerSRA) for crafting & supporting the raid. A rotation of crafted items (if applicable) will
be outlined in a separate post.
Patterns/Recipes: As we move through these end-game dungeons crafting recipes will drop & will be rolled for by eligible crafters. If you currently have the required skill to learn the recipe, then you may roll NEED on it. If you have the profession, but lack the current skill to learn it, you MUST roll GREED.
**IMPORTANT NOTE**: ANY RECIPES THAT DROP IN SRA CONTENT WILL BE CRAFTED FOR SRA RAIDERS FREE OF CHARGE (unless BoP items are required for crafting) IF ALL MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED. Raiders, remember, tipping is always nice.
